Hi there! I'm Sara Baurley, and yes, it is pronounced like the grain (bar-lee).
I am a freelance photographer + photo assistant living and working in Atlanta, Georgia. I am originally from a beach town in South Florida; it was the kind of place where you learn to drive a boat before a car. I lived in Savannah, Georgia, during my college years at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I graduated a year early with a BFA in photography and a minor in business management and entrepreneurship with honors.
Following graduation, I accepted a year-long photo fellowship position at Dotdash Meredith's Food Studios in Birmingham, Alabama, where I learned from some of the industry's best photographers at America's largest publishing company. Assisting on sets with brands like Food & Wine, Southern Living, and Real Simple readied me for the world of freelance.
Shortly afterward, I moved back to Georgia but this time to Atlanta. These days you can catch me shooting for clients in Atlanta (and beyond) or assisting on commercial photo sets in Atlanta and Birmingham. On weekends during dance season, you can find me on tour with Showstopper all over America, photographing some of the most talented competitive dancers.
My passion for photography stems from my love for the outdoors. I began by shooting landscapes on hikes through western North Carolina's Appalachians and paddles through the mangrove marshes of the Florida Keys.
Some fun facts about me are National Park bucket list in which I aspire to visit and photograph every US National Park at least once. So far, I has been to all three of the National Parks in Florida and the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee/North Carolina. I also really love limoncello La Croix, hence the themed headshot.

Let's work together!
I am the proud owner of Sara Baurley Photo LLC. I shoot branding content for businesses, large or small, as well as stories (travel or local) for magazines and any other kind of publication. I have an in-home studio or can travel to bring my studio to you (near or far).
If you need a photo assistant (who is also extremely proficient in Capture One Pro) and has experience working on commercial, editorial, interior, food, and product sets. I am based in Atlanta and am also able to work locally in Birmingham, Asheville, and Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beach/Miami (and of course I am always open to travel). I have select equipment available for rent that I can travel with if needed.
